Statement of intent

When you supply any personal information to Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (“WSFF”), WSFF has legal obligations towards you in the way WSFF deal with that information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. In particular, WSFF must:

  • let you know how it will be used
  • keep the information secure

Whenever you provide personal information WSFF will treat your information in accordance with this privacy policy, and will act in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

How your information is used

WSFF may collect and process personal data such as your name and email address, postal address, telephone number and card details. WSFF will collect this type of information about you when you submit personal information about yourself to WSFF, if you register to use certain parts of the WSFF website (“Site”), if you report a problem with the Site, or if you donate to, or contact, WSFF.

WSFF may use the information held about you to provide you with information or services, to allow you to participate in interactive features on the Site or to notify you about any changes to WSFF’s services. The services include newsletters, updates, competitions, merchandise and receiving further information relating to WSFF, the projects it funds and its supporters. WSFF will only use your personal information to the extent it is necessary to do so, such as to provide services you have requested, or as explained in this privacy policy or for other purposes you have consented to.

WSFF will not supply your personal data to any third party without your consent, unless it is obliged by law to do so. WSFF also use your information to identify you and provide a personalised service to you. WSFF sometimes aggregate statistics about its supporters, donors and customers to enable it to operate more effectively, but these statistics do not include information from which individuals can be identified.

If you provide WSFF with personal information about anyone else, please make sure that you have their permission before you provide their details.

How your information is stored

All information you provide to WSFF is stored on its secure servers. WSFF will hold your personal information on its systems for as long as you use any service that you have requested, and will remove it in the event that the purpose has been met or you inform WSFF that you no longer wish to receive the service in question.

WSFF will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give it. Whilst WSFF endeavour to keep its systems and communications protected against tracking viruses and other harmful materials WSFF does not guarantee that communications will be virus-free.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Athough WSFF will do its best to protect your personal data, it cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once WSFF has received your information, it will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

CONTRIBUTIONS POLICY

This contributions policy sets out the terms on which you may contribute any material for inclusion on the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (“WSFF”) website (“Site”) or any interactive services on the Site. By making a contribution you accept these terms as well as WSFF’s terms of website use and privacy policy.

You should give careful consideration before making public any personal information about yourself (for example telephone number, home address or email address). You should not make public any personal information that could identify a child or young person.

You should make sure you have permission from anyone in a picture or video that you post on this Site or send to us. For children or young people, this must be from their parent or guardian.

WSFF will determine, in its discretion, whether there has been a breach of the contributions policy. When a breach of this policy has occurred, WSFF may take such action as it deems appropriate.

Failure to comply with the contributions policy constitutes a material breach of WSFF’s terms of use upon which you are permitted to use the Site, and may result in WSFF taking all or any of the following actions:

  • Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Site.
  • Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by you to the Site.
  • Issue a warning to you.
