WSFF Chair launches search for replacement
After five years as Chair of the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, Hugh Chambers has launched the search for his replacement.
Commenting on his decision, Hugh said:
“After five years I have decided that now is the right time to hand over my role as Chair of WSFF. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege working with the team at WSFF and I’m very proud of everything that has been achieved.
I believe that in this time WSFF has had a major impact on the landscape of women’s sport in the UK; highlighting the issues in a clear fact based approach and driving the entire industry to re-think the way it is structured and behaves in regard to women and sport. And yet there is still so much more to be done to change the way that all women can access sport, how women’s sport is represented by the media and the role models created in society
This is a fantastic time to join the charity as WSFF seeks to capitalise on the enthusiasm and passion for women’s sport created by the London Olympic Games.”
The Selection Committee will discuss the opportunity with long-listed candidates in late November and the Selection Committee will interview a shortlist in early December.
Hugh will stay in post throughout the handover period, and assist the board with the appointment of the new Chair.
