A HUGE thank you to all those who came along to our second Women's Sport Network event 'Lunch with Leading Women in Sport'.

Tricia Thompson and Debbie Jevans CBE joined us for a conversation around leadership and female equality in the workplace. The conversation, chaired by Alison Kervin gave us a huge insight into many of the challenges and triumphs women face in senior leadership positions within the sport sector.

Buzzing with enthusiasm for women's sport and equality, the panellists' passion for the sector was matched by a brilliant crowd in attendance at the event. Alison Kervin kept the conversation moving whilst giving some of her own insight into female sports journalism and how it has changed over the years.

Debbie spoke of her conflicting views on female quotas, remarking "Inherently I don't believe quotas are the right thing. But sometimes you need them to kick start things. It's vital to change culture".

Tricia captivated the crowd with her view on leadership, and the huge emphasis she places on building female confidence to strive for top level jobs "leaders must be open, honest and ask questions. Confidence is so important when leading and working in sport as a woman"

A lively discussion along with great company made this a very worthwhile Tuesday lunch break! However, if you missed this one - have no fear! we've already got a date for our third Women's Sport Network event along with some exceptional speakers including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and Baroness Martha Lane Fox.
