Creating a nation of active women is a big job so we’ve teamed up with a long list of partners to make WSFF’s vision a reality. 

Sport England is the Government agency responsible for advising, investing in and promoting community sport to create an active nation. Their ambition is to get two million people more active in sport by 2012 – and to make sure that participation is sustained.

The Big Lottery Fund is the largest distributor of Lottery money to good causes. We are responsible for giving out half the money raised by the National Lottery for good causes: 14 pence of every pound spent on a Lottery Ticket.


SportsAid, previously known as SportsAid Foundation (SAF), was founded in 1976. Its principal function was to raise funds from the private sector to provide financial assistance to Britain's amateur sportsmen and women. The aim was to help them prepare for competitions against better-funded, overseas athletes.


Established by Royal Charter in 1996, UK Sport works in partnership with the home country sports councils and other agencies to lead sport in the UK to world-class success.
